With a 20-year career crafting great red wines at some of Sonoma and Napa Valley’s leading wineries, Horse Play winemaker Melissa Bates knows how to tame a rambunctious young red. Working with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grapes grown exclusively in California’s renowned North Coast and Central Coast wine regions, Melissa utilized cutting-edge artisan winemaking techniques to produce a 2005 Rollicking Red that is rich and robust, yet smooth and graceful – much like the high-spirited wild horses Horse Play honors.

making Rollicking Red. Wild horses don’t play by the rules, so we didn’t, either.
We blended some Syrah (a bit of a wild beast itself) with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and – Voila! – Rollicking Red. We hope you enjoy drinking it as
